I love Toile. I love every color, texture, etc. of Toile. It is so fascinating how a piece of Toile can tell so many stories. I have Toile covering my storage boxes in my craft room/office. I have Toile on pillows ... I have a gorgeous Toile quilt that I need to finish and hang. Although I love Toile, my husband has more of a contemporary aesthetic, and so I judiciously disperse it throughout my house in a constant effort to merge our two styles so that both of us feel like our home speaks to us. But, I will always have Toile in one form or another, somewhere in my house.
I have spent the last several months collecting vintage and discontinued Toile patterns to use in my store Lorraine's Graphiques ... a digital image store that I created. So, when it was time for Brag Monday, I decided it was time to pull out some Toile and share it with you. So, I've made a free printable of Toile labels or tags. My gift to you for all of your support. I couldn't have the success that I'm having with my Etsy stores, this quickly, without my facebook and blog friends. I truly hope you enjoy ... and that these Toile tags bring a smile to your face, as they do mine. Many of them are from the 1700s-1900. The one in the middle is gratis from the Graphics Fairy ... many thanks to her!
As always, you may not mass produce, but feel free to click on the picture and then right click to save. You may refer others to my blog, however. You may also print them out and use them to your heart's content for personal projects, not commercial.
Au revoir, mes amies ... have a wonderful week!

I too love toile...I use it mostly in the master bedroom. But...I've got plans for toile window treatments in my dining room. A local fabric outlet store had quite a few of their fabrics on clearance for $3.00 a yard.. and I bought toile...lots and lots of toile!!! I didn't even have plans for it all, but couldn't pass up all the various colors at that price. That doesn't include the yards I already had in my fabric collection. I see toile pillows coming for the living room sofa. Thanks for the toile tags.
You're so welcome. Oh, Marda ... we must be kindred spirits!! Do you have any French General fabrics in your fabric collection? I used to work at a quilt shop (purely for the fabric discount ... and to help all of the lovely women who wanted help with color - my specialty). Anyway, I fell, fell, fell, in love with anything French General. I dream of going with her (Kari) to France on her yearly excursion. The quilt I spoke of uses toile patterns from her collection.
I have a lot of Toile in my bedroom (I'm lucky to have a husband who loves a romantic feel in the bedroom) ... the one room that is purely me. But, I have toile here and there in every room.
I'm glad you like the tags. What color toile are you using for your window treatments? I'm a red girl, and so I have a red toile bedspread in my bedroom.
Well, right now I have black/white toile valances with lace under for "summer".. and now it's way past time to get my Fall/Winter theme up. It's a Waverly cranberry/ecru floor length, lined with a matching stripe that I put a gathered stripe edging on.. and they weigh a ton!!!!! It didn't seem so bad 10 years ago...Ha! I've got a blue/yellow toile that I plan to make into window treatments for the dining room...probably making swag style valances to keep the weight down!!!!
I'm just been looking at French General fabric and have seen some styles I really like.. so that will probably be a line I buy sometime. I too love that red toile, and I have a bedspread that I used to use.. but it fit a queen bed and isn't big enough for a king.. so I keep a neutral bedspread and add pillows. I made pillows with the black/white toile and the cranberry toile. The toile you show, top right, is like one I just bought for $3/yd. Don't know yet where I might use it.. but loved the color. I do have a black/ecru King bedspread, and if I get in gear with my sewing and make window treatments in black/ecru, that may go on the bed this time around. So many choices!!!!!!
These are beautiful!! TFS!! Stopping by from Family Home & Life linky party. Here is what I shared this week: http://craftybrooklynarmywife.blogspot.ca/2012/10/happy-halloween-evil-queen-costume.html
Happy Halloween!
Thank you Alisha. I will definitely check out your link. Happy Halloween!
I'm so jealous about your $3/yard toile finds! I live only a couple hours away from Chicago and plan to go to some of the fabric warehouses there specifically to look for toile. I'll share some of my discoveries when I do!
These are gorgeous! Thank you so much.
I'm so glad you like them. I love them, but it's always nice to know that they strike a chord with someone else. You are so very welcome!
